This month's update has arrived (though a bit late).  There were many changes to the site code, new features, bug fixes, etc.  Keep in mind we are still in a beta state.  So if you find a bug or encounter a problem, please let us know about it.

Let's start with the nifty new stuff.
New Features

  • Round Robin Stories - Now you can have round robin stories.  There are two options for it, unrestricted (where any member can post to it) and restricted (where you review the submissions and accept or decline them).
  • Story Code Pop-Up - Now if you're reading a story and want to verify what the story codes are for the story, you can click on the perv score in the side bar and a pop-up will appear listing the story codes for the story and their definitions.
  • Edit Story Return - Now when you edit a story or chapter, you'll be returned to the same location in the Edit Stories interface.

Bug Fixes

  • Series Links - Fixed a bug where a story wasn't linking correctly to the series which it belonged.
  • Series Notify - Fixed a bug where notification preferences weren't being saved.
  • Story Paragraphing - Fixed a bug where some of the paragraph formatting in a story was getting messed up during the save process.
  • Author Panel Security - Fixed a few security bugs that existed in the author's control panel.
  • Forum Security Update - Several miscellaneous items were updated in the forum code.
  • Chapter Reorder - Fixed a bug in the chapter reordering code so it would accurately handle the reordering of the chapters.

Be sure to check out the challenges that we have going on and the forthcoming group chat in the EFFN Chat room on October 4th

Great with an update.

About Round Robin stories...aren't there three levels of such?

Unrestricted Posting, Moderated Posting and Restricted Posting.

What in the update is referred to as restricted sound more like moderated to me. A restricted posting would to me imply that I invite a group of authors to freely submit stuff, but only those I approve can participate. Could be a good idea to rename the current Restricted to Moderated to ease communication.

(Possibly Moderated could be split into premoderated and postmoderated , but that might be overkill).

The downside of adding a restricted status like I suggest above is of course that if owner of the story can invite people there is also need for an interface to remove authors from the group and the possibility to delete offending chapters added by authors that can't follow the guidelines of the round robin story.

You make a good point.  When I get a chance, I'll modify the naming.

Though, a restricted option such as you suggest would significantly complicate the interface, but it might also be something that other people might like.  I shall have to ponder it.  Thank you for the feedback.
