Don't forget your towel!

« on: March 08, 2009, 08:49:07 AM »

This month's update has arrived.  There were many changes to the site code, new features, bug fixes, etc.  Keep in mind we are still in a beta state.  So if you find a bug or encounter a problem, please let us know about it.

Let's start with the nifty new stuff.
New Features

  • Archive Search - We now have simple archival searching available.  You can select either stories or characters to search.  However, it does not search story text, just fields associated with the stories.  In other words, it will search the title, description, and author's story note.  As an inducement to join our ranks, the archive search is only available to members.
  • Review Page Author Info - The review pages for stories now show some information about the story and the author on the side.  Just in case you've forgotten what story you're reviewing.

Bug Fixes

  • Story TOC Fix - There was a minor issue with the table of contents that caused things to be misaligned.

Other News
  • The first Meet the Founders meeting went very well.  To help facilitate continued growth in the member participation, you will find a link in the main menu on the left that will take you to the chat.  Nice and simple.
  • March 14th is the target date for getting characters assigned to your fiction on the site.  Only the main characters that your story focuses one need to be assigned.
  • Next month is April, which is poetry month.  Show your support for the EFFN site by preparing a poetry piece for posting in April.

To have a right to do a thing is not at all the same as to be right in doing it.
