Yahoo news is reporting that actor Leslie Nielsen passed away in Florida today. he was 84.

Leslie Nielsen of 'Naked Gun' fame dies at 84

the man was a brilliant actor and a wonderful comedic presence.

I met him once, a long time ago (when I was in high school... he went to the same high school I did...) and he was truly a very sweet man. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Nielsen is one of those actors who always had the distinction of no one having a bad word to say about him, and, in every interview that I saw of him, including one of his last (one of the extras on the Police Squad! DVD), he always came across as charming, pleasant, and having a laugh along with his audience. One of the greats, and he will be missed.
